1. Ikinari Steak Shinjuku 2 Chome
Business Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Google Rating: 4.0 (1,208)
This establishment is a standing-eating steak restaurant. Unlike before, where standing was the norm, there are now plenty of options to sit and dine. In fact, at this particular branch, I opted to sit down.
The quality of the steak is impressive enough to align with the concept of enjoying a meal while standing, and the prices are reasonable as well.
The taste is wonderful. The steak is affordably priced, and despite the reasonable cost, the quality of the meat is far from subpar. I had the Wild Steak, a 300g serving, along with broth and rice. The steak alone was so satisfying that I felt I could easily skip the rice.
Undoubtedly great value for money, offering a straightforward yet delectable steak experience. I recommend trying the set that includes the beef soup, which turned out to be quite delicious. The service is commendable as well, with English-speaking staff members who are welcoming and friendly.

This establishment specializes in all-you-can-eat sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, known for its exceptional value.
Favored by the local community, this restaurant provides a selection of high-quality meat and fresh vegetables, ensuring a high level of satisfaction among its patrons.
The quality of the meat was truly outstanding! The dessert, particularly the pistachio and vanilla ice cream, was delightful. However, what truly set this place apart was the exceptional service, with special mention to Scarlette and Mai. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick to respond.
Price per person ¥4,000–5,000
3. Nabezo Shinjuku Meiji Dori
Business Hours: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM / 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM (No break time on Saturdays and Sundays)
Menu: Skiyaki, Shabu-Shabu
Google Rating: 4.5 (425)
This restaurant specializes in all-you-can-eat sukiyaki and shabu-shabu.
The impressive quality of meat offered at such an affordable price contributes to high levels of visitor satisfaction. Despite my lack of interest in Japanese cuisine, I found this Sukiyaki restaurant to be quite impressive. The diverse selection of sauces, attentive staff, and clean interior, along with its reasonable weekday lunch prices, make it a worthy option. The inclusion of fizzy drinks and ice cream is a plus. Dining alone is also feasible and recommended.
The restaurant offers an 80-minute unlimited buffet experience. The food is delicious and the staff members are incredibly friendly.
Business Hours: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM (Until 7:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays)
Menu: Korean BBQ
Google Rating: 4.1 (579)
This restaurant is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a delightful experience of savoring high-quality charcoal-grilled beef along with drinks.
During my recent trip to Osaka, I had the chance to visit this restaurant for the first time. The cozy ambiance of the place was quite appealing. What caught my attention was the value-for-money deal that included five different menu options and even alcoholic beverages. I must note that the garlic sauce can be quite salty, so those who prefer milder flavors should consider this when placing their orders. Apart from that, the texture and taste of the beef were truly remarkable, making the dining experience a memorable one.
Contrary to some other reviews mentioning unfriendly staff, I found the service to be attentive and accommodating. Despite my lack of proficiency in Japanese, they patiently waited for me to make my choices and even inquired if I needed anything else throughout the meal.
Based on my observation, there seems to be little to no waiting time until around 7 PM, making it a good idea to plan your visit around that time. I highly recommend considering a visit to this restaurant during your trip to Osaka.
It’s worth mentioning that the comments I’ve read mention issues like unfriendliness and excessive saltiness (which is somewhat true, but it adds to the rich flavor). However, I personally had an absolutely delicious dining experience. While the service might not be exceptional, the beef itself is truly delectable. The galbi, usuyaki (thinly sliced beef), and Jin-hai ball were all outstanding in taste. Though I have to admit, the food can be a bit salty, but it’s still quite enjoyable.
5. sukiyaki Ibuki
Business Hours: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Google Rating: 4.4 (381)
This restaurant is a popular destination for those seeking a delectable sukiyaki experience at an affordable price point.
While Japan offers numerous upscale sukiyaki eateries that can easily surpass 10,000 yen per person, this establishment stands out for its ability to deliver flavorful sukiyaki without breaking the bank.
Prior reservations are necessary.
During our visit, we had an enjoyable time discovering this authentic sukiyaki restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious, and the gracious lady overseeing the place was an absolute delight. We didn’t need to worry about ordering, as she adeptly catered to our group of four with her impressive command of English. The meal she served us was fantastic. The restaurant is located on the second floor, and the signage is solely in Japanese, so you might have to do a bit of searching. However, the exceptional cuisine and service are undeniably worth the effort.
6. Hamburg Will
Business Hours: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM / 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Menu: Hamburg Steak
Google Rating: 4.2 (953)
A beloved local haunt specializing in hamburg steak (hambagu).
During meal hours, be prepared for a wait, as this place is consistently bustling with eager diners. The pork hamburg steak they serve has garnered high praise for its delectable flavor.
My initial choice, the foie gras hamburg, was unfortunately sold out. Undeterred, I opted for the 200g mozzarella with mustard cream sauce – and it was an absolute delight! The patty was juicy, perfectly sauced, and impeccably seasoned. The quality of the pork was evident in every bite. I also sampled the Demi glacé sauce, which provided a pleasant variation. While the salad was satisfactory, it didn’t stand out – consider ordering it if you’re looking to incorporate some greens. The service was genuinely warm and inviting, making me eager to return. To avoid unnecessary wait times, I recommend making a reservation in advance.
